In order to respond efficiently and effectively, we are looking to find a committed and qualified candidates from BiH to be engaged as
CULTURAL MEDIATOR: 1 position, in Ušivak, Hadžići.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Cultural Mediator will provide linguistic and cultural mediation services (oral and written) in order to support the provision of quality services for the UASC-24/7 project component in RC Ušivak.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing support to UASC-24/7 Staff in process of registering children/minors
Supporting UASC-24/7 Staff in understanding specific aspects of the cultural background of the beneficiaries with whom they have cultural affiliations with the aim to improve the provision of UASC-24/7 services;
Exchanging with other cultural mediators and all other staff in order to approach each beneficiary in the most appropriate way;
Perform translation work from Arabic/Farsi/Pastu to BHS and from BHS to Arabic/Farsi/Pastu for documents and materials, including program-related documents, if needed.
Perform real-time verbal translation (simultaneous and consecutive) from Arabic/Farsi/Pastu to BHS and from BHS to Arabic/Farsi/Pastu for visitors and staff during meetings, field visits and training sessions.
Assist in guiding interviews with beneficiaries to gather resources that are child-focused, respectful and demonstrative of the realities and challenges that the refugees face.
Creating a trustful relationship with beneficiaries;
Guaranteeing the confidentiality, impartiality and neutrality;

A person with at least 1 year of experience in translating
University Degree in relevant field or equivalent minimum 3 years working as a Cultural Mediator/Translator
Previous experience with migration context or projects would be considered as an asset.
Professional experience in the field of social services or in organisations which deal with immigrants or poverty alleviation is an asset;
Willingness to work in difficult environment
Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team;
Openness to others
Interpersonal communication skills
Computer literacy (office package)
Fluent English written and spoken preferred

Staff members will be engaged on service agreement and for a fixed period of time. Also, this engagement will include work during night hours in the camp and in the night shift.
