VACANCY FOR A FINANCE ASSISTANT - NATIONAL POST

Save the Children in North Western Balkans (Save the Children in NWB) seeks a Finance Assistant based in Sarajevo. The post holder will be expected to assist the program has appropriate and sufficient finance services supporting smooth functioning of financial systems in place in the Country Office and integrity of accounts.
Key areas of work: As a member of the Finance and Support Services Department, the Finance Assistant in his/her capacity is responsible for assisting the CO finances in the field of banking/cash management and accounting – preparing daily payments ensuring all payments are done in compliance with SC policies and procedures, i.e. they are correctly authorised in accordance with the Scheme of Delegation, are coded and supported by relevant forms and documentation and paid timely, preparing cash counts and reconciliation of cash and ensuring that all payment forms and supporting documents are properly referenced, organized and filed and that they are in compliance with audit and donor requirements andentering all transactions into the financial system on a daily basis.
Duration of the post: 12 months with included probation period

Bachelor degree in accounting/finance/business administration or related subject
1-3 years of experience in related field
Excellent command of written and spoken English and local language
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage time and prioritise tasks under pressure
Proactive in identifying difficulties and working collaboratively to solve them
Good understanding of computer and other communication systems
Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children, the organisational mandate and child focus including child safeguarding
