The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) is a treaty-based international organization with headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. Its mandate is to secure the cooperation of governments and others in locating and identifying missing persons. As the only international organization tasked exclusively to work on the issue of missing persons, ICMP maintains field programs throughout the world.
The IDMS Database Administrator will be working on the Syria Program out of the ICMP office in Sarajevo or Tuzla. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the database and for the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
Reporting to the Director of Data Systems, the main duties and responsibilities are:
– Ensuring that databases meet user requirements and monitoring user access and security;
– Controlling access permissions and privileges;
– Monitoring database performance and managing parameters to provide fast response to end users;
– Developing and performing tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity;
– Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans;
– Contributing to database design, organization of data and development of the in-house software solutions;
– Implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required. – Integrating old systems data with new system, including migration of data;
– Troubleshooting and correcting database issues as they arise; Other related duties as required.
