Background

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

In collaboration with the other UN Agencies and the national government and CSO partners, UN Women is implementing programme designed to improve services for the survivors of Conflict Related Sexual Violence (CRSV). Under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist and overall supervision of the UN Women Representative, the CRSV Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and providing substantive guidance for all UN Women work on improvement of position of survivors of CRSV.

The CRSV coordinator is expected to work in close collaboration with the designated staff from the other UN Agencies to ensure consistent and coordinated programme delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

Summary of Key functions:

Management of UN Women Programme Activities

Management and coordination of UN Women activities designed for the improvement of position and increase in available services for the survivors of CRSV;
Establishing effective working relations with the selected programme partners and stakeholders;
Coordination of stakeholders (government and CSO partners);
Monitoring of programme implementation of the Responsible Partners;
Ensuring adherence to the UN Women operating rules and procedures;
Performing appropriate operations in ATLAS;
Substantive guidance of the UN Women work on CRSV

Provision of substantive knowledge for the formulation of programme activities;
Provision of substantive guidance for the Responsible Partners;
Coordination of external consultants with a view of effective implementation of the planned programme activities;
Contribution to the institutional knowledge generation in UN Women BIH CO and the Regional Office in Istanbul;
Substantive input in the inter-agency collaboration on all issues pertaining to CRSV work;
Ensuring transfer of knowledge and capacity building of the selected government and CSO partners in all aspects of CRSV work;
Contribution to the effective UNCT Programme Management

Ensuring close coordination of all aspects of programme implementation with the participating agencies;
Participation in the inter-agency working bodies.

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Advanced degree in the field of human rights, law, political science, international relations, social sciences.
Experience:

5 years of relevant experience in similar positions is required.
Programme / project experience will be highly valued as well as the previous work and research on topics related to transitional justice, human rights, law and provision of services for the survivors of gender based violence and conflict related sexual violence.
Familiarity with the international standards related to the Project Cycle Management and Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects is required. Knowledge of ATLAS (UN Enterprise Resource Planning Software) will be considered an additional asset.
Language Requirements:

Excellent English and B/S/C language skills, both written and oral.
