The role: Roving Finance Manager, based in Belgrade, Serbia or in Sarajevo, BiH, with extensive travel to BiH or Serbia and other countries in the region – NATIONAL POST

The purpose of the position is to help ensure the financial viability of the complex interventions implemented by the team of North-West Balkans consisting of interventions in BiH, Serbia and regional Balkans Migration and Displacement Hub in full spectrum programming by supporting the Director of Finance and Support Services and other finance staff in different locations as well as providing capacity building in financial management to different partners in the region. Specifically, the position will be responsible for maintaining the North-West Balkans master budgets, budgeting large priority awards, supporting implementation of financial management policies, supporting budget holders for timely and compliant financial management of different awards and accurate reporting to SC members and donors as well, ongoing coaching and capacity building, plus other tasks and projects, as and when required. The job holder will ensure smooth functioning of financial systems in North-West Balkans programme offices, including finance support to the Balkan Migration and Displacement Hub, integrity of accounts and provision of reliable financial information to a range of stakeholders for full spectrum programming.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
Qualifications and experience:

Qualified professional accountant (internationally recognised qualification, practical experience equivalent will be considered) with substantial post qualification accounting experience
Similar / relevant experience in accounting and finances for 3 – 7 years
Experience with any Save the Children financial systems and overseas accounting software (including Agresso)
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel
Analytical skills and accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively, with a solid command of both spoken and written English
Responds to requests, queries in timely manner
Sound planning and organisational skills, and a proven ability to meet deadlines – must be outcome driven and accountable
Good information sharing/ communication skills in communication with staff and partners
Strong problem solving skills with an eye for detail, show initiative and work independently
Commitment to the vision, mission, values, principles, and aims of Save the Children
Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
Contract length: one year including obligatory probation period with possibility of extension.
