Located in Sarajevo, Reports to the Director Fundraising & Communication, 3 years limited contract
SOS Children’s Villages Country started its operation in the year 1994. with the first SOS-Children’s Village in Sarajevo and Gračanica and is currently running 3 programmes (SOS Children’s Villages, Family Strengthening-programmes and Youth programmes) thus caring for a total of 223 children and young people www.sos-ds.ba.
The PR & Comm. Expert will be a member in a team of 9 colleagues.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Develop PR strategy and campaigns to support Fundraising activities
Preparing press releases, keynote speeches and promotional material
Building positive relationships with stakeholders, media and the public
Provide communications expertise to Fundraising team

Requirements:
University degree in journalism, Public Relations/communications, Marketing, ideally additional education but at least track record of working with Social Media
A proven track record of at least 5 years in Public Relations/communication/ advertising/promotion/journalism
Experience in project management
Fluent spoken and written English
Good contacts to press and media and relevant agencies (communication, advertising, promotion agencies)
Understanding for the specific position of Communications towards Fundraising
Experience in supporting multi-channel campaigns with communications measures
Well-groomed and self-confident appearance
Can identify with the vision, mission and values of SOS Children’s Villages
Competencies – knowledge, skills, abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Ability to translate complex information in easy-to-catch and attractive messages
Confident in dealing with persons in high social positions, e.g. VIP testimonials
Feeling for design and layout
Excellent networking skills (mainly with professional field of journalists and agencies)
Active driver
Candidate profile
We are looking for a self-motivated determined and with a “can do” mentality, i.e. able to identify and take advantage of PR opportunities that support Fundraising. They should be an optimistic person, socially competent, creative interdisciplinary thinking regarding individual and corporate fundraising.
They will need to have BH Nationality with a proven understanding and knowledge how things work in Bosnia and Herzegovina and be professionally well networked in BH professional field of journalists.
