Save the Children in North Western Balkans (Save the Children in NWB) seeks a Project Assistant based in Sarajevo. The post holder will be expected to support the implementation of the USAID funded projectEnhancing and Advancing Basic Learning and Education in Bosnia-Herzegovina ENABLE BiH lead by the Project Manager and team through program related procurement and administrative support to ensure the ENABLE BiH is successfully delivered in line with SC and donor requirements.

Key areas of work: As a member of the Program Implementation team, the Program Assistant in his/her capacity is responsible for project procurement, logistical and organisational support to project implementation, logistical and organisational communication with different group of experts and working groups and key stakeholders making sure the tasks are carried out diligently, in a transparent manner, in compliance with the procurement manual and with donor’s rules and regulations. He/she is also responsible to make sure that all procurement activities are fully and accurately documented and the procurement reports are prepared on time. He/she is also responsible for providing administrative and logistical support in relation to organisation of project events and activities (venue, materials, attendance lists, reimbursement forms and contracts, preparation of payment orders and other administrative and logistics requirements) and maintenance of accurate project documentation and filing system.

Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people including child safeguarding.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Management or equivalent work experience (a minimum of 5 years of general secretarial and program assistance experience can replace the degree requirement)
At least 2 years work experience in purchasing/procurement role and organisation of different project events with expert and working groups
Fluency in English and B/H/S languages with experience in translation and interpretation
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines and requirements of different team members
Good team work with related staff, partners and external associates;
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organisation and presentation skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
Ability and willingness to change work practices and working hours during the emergency response;
Valid Driver’s license, min 3-5 years driving experience and willingness to undertake intensive driving within Bosnia and Herzegovina;
Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children, the organisational mandate and child safeguarding
