General Information

PIN in partnership with local organizations “Nešto više”, “ProReha” and “Sumero” launched a new project, My Work – Economic Opportunities for People with Disabilities. This 30-month long project will be funded by Czech Development Aid, aiming at enhancing economic opportunities for people with intellectual and psycho-social disabilities (PwID) in 8 target municipalities of BiH.

Under overall supervision of the Regional Representative (RR) for Western Balkans, and direct supervision of the Project Manager (PM), the Project Assistant is responsible for ensuring high-quality planning and implementation of project activities, as well as monitoring and reporting. The position is based in Sarajevo with expected travel in BiH and the region.

Reporting Relations & Interdependencies with Other Functions

Under the supervision of the Project Manager based in Sarajevo, the Project Assistant is in charge of the timely and quality planning, implementation and monitoring of the project My Work in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Duties and Responsibilities

The project My Work aims to provide supported employment to PwID and strengthening the capacity of the partner organizations who will provide these services. The action will include promotion of supported employment, support to PwID from school to work, assistance in the workplace and mentoring PwID, as well as accelerating social enterprises to attract more employees through competition. Another important component of the project is awareness raising on the rights of PwID and their inclusion in the labour market. With support of the project team, joint advocacy actions will be undertaken by PwID their relatives/families, legal guardians and youth.

Therefore, PIN is looking for an assistant to assist in coordination with selected municipalities, centers for social work, local partner organizations and project’s beneficiaries in order to ensure smooth implementation of activities and reaching project’s objectives.

Activity planning and implementation

Assess target population needs, analyse existing context and map existing services
Assist PM in development of annual project plans and ensure implementation of activities according to work plans;
Identify and monitor relevant aspects of work in relation to internal and external strategic documents;
Planning and organization of meetings and events;
Prepare procurement, travel and administrative documents as requested by manager in line with procedures
Coach partners’ staff to ensure timely and quality implementation of project activities;
Reporting and Monitoring and Evaluation

Ensure that M&E data are collected and used, in line with the project results framework and M&E plan;
Provide timely and high-quality inputs for the periodical reports;
In accordance with PIN Media Guidance, provide timely input for social networks and media;
Ensure compliance to donor policies, procedures and procurement.
Communication

Establish and maintain a good communication with local partner organizations, follow up on quality performance and reporting both narrative and financial at regular instances;
Establish and maintain constructive relations with relevant municipal, entity and national authorities;
Conduct regular field visits to monitor field activities, provide support PM and local partners teams;
Produce communication material together with Communication and advocacy officer

Znanja i kvalifikacije:
Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences, Communications, Social Work, journalism and any related course
2+ years of experience in a similar position ideally with an NGO
Demonstrates excellent ability to write, take photos and communicate orally with accuracy and professionalism
Growing experience in public relations, communications and advocacy tools
Good understanding of power relations/power mapping
Ability to create and implement a communications and advocacy strategy
Ability to instruct colleagues working in the field regarding communication tasks
Knowledge of editing or basics of graphic design is advantage and/or ability to outsource graphic designers or videographers
Knowledge of social media advertising is required
Proficiency in English, official languages of BiH required and in any other regional languages preferred
Willing and able to travel within the Western Balkans and to cover emergency situations
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team and manage complex and sensitive organizational relationships.
General employee´s obligations and responsibilities

The Employer stipulates the right to assign the Employee any other kind of work derived from his specialization. In case of urgent work and such like the Employee may be asked to work overtime as well as during public and other holidays.
Adhering to all PIN policies and procedures at all times including those stipulated in National Staff Handbook, Child Protection Policy, Security Standard Operating procedures, etc.
Punctual attendance to work including both working hours in the assigned office and schedule field trips if applicable
Ensuring timely and effective delivery of tasks
Correctness and completeness of given tasks
The Employee takes over the responsibility for all entrusted material or cash. The Employee is obligated to cover all damages or losses caused by his carelessness. The Agreement of Liability of Assets has been signed separately.

Archiving of all entrusted and acquired documents in proper manner
