Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) is a permanent intergovernmental regional organization comprised of nine member countries from South East Europe: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia.
RAI’s mission is to lead regional cooperation to support anti-corruption efforts by providing a common platform for discussions through sharing knowledge and best practices.
RAI Secretariat is based in Sarajevo and it serves as the center for regional anti-corruption cooperation in South Eastern Europe (SEE) through coordination, facilitation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned. Secretariat tailors its activities to directly support the efforts of SEE countries to meet the standards and requirements related to the Justice and Home Affairs field on the road to the main goal – full EU membership. RAI also acts as a Coordinator for Anti-corruption Dimension of the SEE2020 Strategy.
RAI Secretariat received a Grant from Regional Cooperation Council for implementation of a project titled “Whistleblowing is important: Raising Awareness about the Whistleblowing in South East Europe”. Objectives of the Project are to raise awareness of general public about the importance of whistleblowing in SEE region and to engage wider public and professional community in the discussion about whistleblowers in public and private sector. To achieve its objectives, the Project is set to deliver awareness raising campaign on a regional level that will tackle the social and cultural connotations of whistleblowing and thus address stereotypes and labels surrounding the concept of whistleblowing and whistleblowers. The project targets the SEE Region, more specifically: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Kosovo*.
