UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the overall goal of the Country Programme 2015 – 2019 is to support the Country’s efforts to accelerate the universal realization of child rights by fostering greater social inclusion, especially of the most vulnerable and excluded children and families: children with disabilities, children of minorities, especially Roma, and children in impoverished communities. This is to be done by reducing disparities and inequities and strengthening social cohesion among groups. Key priorities include child rights monitoring, social protection, and justice for children, early childhood education and young child well-being for all children, including children with disabilities and Roma children.

Promotion of child rights, especially the most disadvantaged ones, requires efficient, persuasive, clear and understandable two-way communication. In order to advocate for promotion of child rights, to increase understanding and visibility among the stakeholders about UNICEF and its values, UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina is managing the media relations, collaboration and partnerships with the media. Based on the feedback and evidence, UNICEF is constantly updating its communication strategy to allow participatory and interactive communication for protection and promotion of child rights in the media.
