UNDP is building the largest and fastest learning global network that aims to utilise complexity science, innovation and collective intelligence to accelerate development impact. UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina is also one of the offices where the Accelerator Lab is established. The Accelerator Lab will undertake i) external facing interventions addressing priority development challenges, and ii) internally facing experiments to embed new ways of doing development within the existing UNDP portfolio.
UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina has started in-house conversations and thinking about its future scope of work and development priorities and create a vision for 2025. Against this background, the purpose of this consultancy is to offer a visual outlook of emerging development objectives and challenges that will help capture the vision and convey complex information quickly, persuasively and in an engaging way.

Duties and Responsibilities
UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina is looking to engage a national consultant who will provide graphic illustrations and capture discussions and visions based on a storytelling. The main functions of the consultant will include: To offer an appealing presentation of the Accelerator Lab for the public, visualizing its purpose and areas of work. In doing so, the consultant will be engaged in ideation with the Accelerator Lab. The envisaged level of effort for this assignment is up to 10 expert days delivered during the period August – October 2019.To review emerging UNDP vision 2025 and the textual description of specific priorities and development hypothesis and then present this complex vision through a compelling visual narrative. This assignment will take place during the period September – November 2019 (depending on the dynamics of how UNDP strategic planning process evolves) and will not exceed 15 expert days. Deliverables and Timeline A visual story presenting the Accelerator Lab and related aspects of its work endorsed by UNDP – 10 expert days by the end of October 2019 UNDP vision 2025 and specific priorities and development hypothesis presented through a compelling visual narrative or a series of visual narratives – 15 expert days by end of November 2019.

Required Skills and Experience
Education Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related fields. Experience At least 5 years of experience in drawing, hand illustrations, graphic design.Experience in communications for development and advocacy.Experience working with UN agencies is an asset. Languages Requirements Fluency in English and the official languages in BiH. The award of the contract will be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as: Responsive/compliant/acceptable, andHaving received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical (70%) and financial (30%) criteria specific to the solicitation. Technical evaluation criteria: Rating based on Qualifications – max 40 pointsProven previous successful experience in visual storytelling, hand-made illustrations, animation and translating complex data into compelling visuals – max 40 pointsAbility to depict and visualise complex topics through a visual outlook (practical task) – max 20 points
