JOB DESCRIPTION:
Executive chef supervise other kitchen personnel and is responsible for making the administrative decisions for a restaurant. Work experience is the most important requirement for executive chef position. Executive chef may review food and beverage purchases, develop and standardize recipes, maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen, maintain equipment, design food presentation aesthetics, plan and prepare special menu items, choose menu designs and determine menu prices. He or she may also be in charge of interviewing, hiring and training new kitchen personnel.
Additionally, executive chefs supervise all kitchen workers. They give performance reviewsand take disciplinary action when necessary. Executive chefs may also help prepare meals in the kitchen and delegate work to other chefs and cooks during the restaurant's busy times. At the end of the work day, executive chefs oversee clean up and record the day's sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Check freshness of food and ingredients.
•Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.
•Develop recipes and determine how to present the food.
•Plan menus and ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals.
•Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
•Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers.
•Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies needed to ensure efficient operations.
•Monitor sanitation practices and ensure that kitchen safety standards are followed.
•Oversee the daily food preparation at restaurants and other places where food is served.
•Direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns.
•Coordinate the work of sous chefs and other cooks, who prepare most of the meals. Executive chefs also have many duties beyond the kitchen.

PREREQUISITES:

Education: High school education or equivalent. Excellent knowledge of english.

Experience: 5 years’ experience
